I love water, the sun, drawing outdoors and sunbathing naked. The drawings are more beautiful this way, and communicate who I am, a free spirit. I made this collection between one bath and another, with no one around except many flowers from my garden. I forgot the cold freezing days spent in Moscow where I studied design. Here there is the warmth of the time, that of the people, good food and lots of love. But for that reason I am much more demanding and I prefer to be alone rather than share my time with people who ultimately do not live up to my expectations. My great love is art and my work as a painter. I hope to be able to communicate it with these works of mine.

Another thing I love to do is read, curled up in my bright living room overlooking my garden. Here I enjoy rarefied atmospheres made of lights and colours, modern and harmonious cuts. With this collection I tried to communicate this through transparencies, newspapers and texts, flowers and spaces of the mind open to style and design. A good cup of coffee, a good book and I could stay and enjoy all this light that enters me giving me the awareness of being alive. This I would like to communicate with all my heart.

Have you ever seen the light on the French Riviera? I assure you it is something special. It may be the special position that the South of France has but I assure you that it is different than, for example, what you can feel in Riccione or Forte dei Marmi, where I have gone a few times. It must be the angle that the sun has towards those who are on the beach. Here I have friends who host me and it is here, both in their villa in the hinterland and on their boats, that I made these drawings. I’m like my style of quick impressions. Sketches done on the terrace while I was drinking a coffee or sitting on the marina of St. Tropez harbour. It was also exciting to watch a regatta or if I remember correctly it was the “Le Voiles de Saint Tropez” regatta where I made some sketches. I’m sure I’ll be back to do more new work.

For a while I had an English friend who hosted me at her house in the countryside in Norfolk, not very far from the royal residence of Sandringham. It was a small cottage but truly delightful. Since it was Autumn I was able to wander around the countryside with the pad and the special colours that I use to make drawings. I loved the warm colours I saw and the atmospheres I wasn’t used to. Woods and isolated houses, some small villages where I also stopped to have a quick snack. I remember loving their yellow orange cheese, I think it was called Cheddar. I made many drawings, rather notes as I usually do and so they have this unfinished flavour that I love and I hope you do too.

I don’t know if I’ve told you but I love playing sports, I do many different sports, it depends on who I hang out with at the moment and I get involved in their passion. I have pads full of these drawings, sometimes notes. What I like is to fix the moment or the key moment which can be a movement or the beginning of the action or the end. Each sport typically shows a movement and this makes my style suitable for taking snapshots with few marks. Perhaps of all my works these are the least completed but I can’t help it, I’m fast, I move quickly from one thing to another and I never stop, except when I read and enter the world of the mind. I imagine the woman of the future while she does sports and she takes care of her appearance and her health. Using all supporting technologies but avoiding using chemicals in her body because health in sport does not mean taking drugs to increase muscles and performance. Instead, a trained and well-groomed woman will always be more beautiful if she has found a balance between mind and body. So I imagined a near future but now I’m resting a bit after all this physical work with pencils..
